On Saturday, September 21st at the Frazier History Museum, CASA of the River Region welcomed guests to CASAblanca: Speakeasy. Business and community leaders in attendance were dressed to the nines, with many donning 1920's-inspired looks to go along with the theme of the evening. Made possible by sponsors Brown-Forman, LG&E/KU, Kosair for Kids, and Old National Bank, CASAblanca raised critical funding to help recruit, train, and support volunteer advocates to represent the best interests of children in the foster care & family court system.

Many attendees enjoyed Casino-style games of roulette, blackjack, craps, and poker others were entertained by placing bids on the silent auction featuring amazing vacation packages provided by AmFund, CASA's travel partner.
A CASAblanca favorite returned with a new twist- the cocktail competition! Previously an Old-Fashioned contest, this year the challenge was issued to create a cocktail inspired by those popular in the Prohibition Era. Mixologists from Goodfellas Pizzeria and Castle & Key crafted 3 delicious beverages. After a close vote, Jeremiah Johnson of Goodfellas was named the winner with his concoction using Diplomatico Planas Rum and Luxardo Maraschino liqueur. Castle & Key's "Nip it in the Buzz" offered a refreshing mix of their Harvest Seasonal Gin, Pear Liqueur, and Aperol while Restoration Rye Whiskey paired with Passionfruit Liqueur, Campari, and Vermouth gave another bold flavor option.
Louisville Public Media served as CASA's media partner for the event. Photography was provided by SoInFocus.com. View our event Gallery here.
Thanks again to our sponsors, item donors, attendees, volunteers, and everyone who helped make Casablanca: Speakeasy a night to remember.
