This Friday, March 27, CASA of the River Region will welcome a full house of supporters, partners, and advocates to our annual Embrace a Child brunch—an inspiring morning dedicated to the children we serve and the volunteers who stand beside them.
With a packed room and record attendance expected, this year’s event is a powerful reflection of a community that believes every child deserves to be safe, supported, and heard.
At a time when the need for CASA advocacy continues to grow, gatherings like Embrace a Child are more important than ever. Every day, children in our community who have experienced abuse and neglect rely on trained CASA volunteers to be their voice in the courtroom and a consistent, caring presence in their lives.
Honoring Our CASA Heroes
A highlight of the morning will be the presentation of the CASA Hero Awards.
We are proud to honor Impact 100 Louisville as a CASA Hero Organization. Their transformational investment has strengthened our ability to recruit, train, and support CASA volunteers—expanding our reach and ensuring that more children have access to the advocacy they deserve.
We will also honor Cindy Prestigiacomo (posthumously), who served as Executive Director of the CASA Program of Bullitt County from 2005 until her untimely passing in 2019. Cindy’s leadership, compassion, and unwavering dedication to children left a lasting legacy in Bullitt County and beyond. The CASA Hero Award presented in her name is a tribute to her service and a reflection of the standard she set—one that CASA of the River Region is honored to continue as we carry forward her commitment to advocating for children in need.
A Community of Support
This event would not be possible without the incredible generosity of our sponsors. Their support fuels our mission and ensures that more children have a dedicated advocate standing up for their best interests. Our sponsors include:
Gold: Kosair for Kids, Pinnacle Financial Partners, Republic Bank, and Shirley's Way
Media Partner: Louisville Public Media
Bronze: Oxmoor Auto Group, Publix Super Markets Charities, Whittenberg Construction
New This Year: Silent Auction Open to the Community
We’re also excited to introduce something new this year—a curated silent auction that expands the opportunity to support CASA beyond the event itself.
Guests attending the brunch, as well as those who are unable to join us in person, can participate by bidding on an exciting collection of items, generously donated by local businesses, including Jeff Ruby’s, Steak & Bourbon, Target, Little Mount Lavender, Kentucky Kingdom, Bae’s Bakery, REDHOG, and many more.
You can browse and start bidding now here.
It’s a fun and meaningful way for the entire community to get involved and help drive impact for children who need it most.
Looking Ahead
As we gather this Friday morning, we are reminded that the impact of Embrace a Child extends far beyond a single event. It lives on in every child who finds stability, every volunteer who shows up, and every supporter who chooses to stand with CASA.
Even if you can’t join us in person, you can still be part of this work—by participating in the silent auction, making a donation, or learning more about becoming a CASA volunteer.
Together, we are changing stories—and creating brighter futures for children in our community.
