CASA of the River Region opened its Bullitt County office on December 8, 2023, in the Jim Eadens Resource Center, 1191 Hillview Boulevard, Hillview, KY 40299.
Through the generosity of the City of Hillview and Mayor Jim Eadens, CASA was able to move into this newly renovated space which will also be occupied by other community partners. The Jim Eadens Resource Center formally opened on October 3, 2023. CASA of the River Region completed the move to the space in early December with the help of Metro United Way and many other steadfast supporters. The open house event was held make the community aware of CASA's presence in the new location and to dedicate the office in memory of Cindy Prestigiacomo, a longtime CASA leader devoted to serving the children of Bullitt County.
Cindy Prestigiacomo served as Executive Director of the CASA Program of Bullitt County (CASA of Bullitt County) from 2005 until her passing in 2019. In 2022, CASA of Bullitt County joined CASA of the River Region to create a combined service area of Bullitt, Jefferson, Henry, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer, and Trimble Counties.
CASA of the River Region is hopeful the new space will create more visibility in the community and highlight the need for CASA volunteers in Bullitt County. There are currently over 150+ children waiting for a CASA at CASA of the River Region. CASA volunteers commit to one to four hours a week to be a friend, mentor and advocate for children with active abuse/neglect cases in Family Court. To learn more, visit www.casarr.org/volunteer
