Kim Schuetze, a recently retired professional with a lifelong passion for supporting vulnerable children, has been making a difference as a CASA volunteer in Shelby County since 2025.
Her career experiences taught her that children and families navigating the foster care system can never have too much support. “CASA allows me to share that support, use my past knowledge and training, and have fun caring and sharing,” Kim says.
She especially treasures the personal connections that come with advocacy. “I love the hugs I get from the children and seeing the smiles of the families,” she shares. For Kim, volunteering is not just about advocacy—it’s about enriching the lives of the children she serves and bringing joy and stability through caring and sharing.
Through her dedication, Kim continues to embody the heart of CASA’s mission: giving every child a voice and a consistent, caring adult in their corner.
