This spring has been an especially active and meaningful season for CASA of the River Region as we continue preparing new volunteer advocates to serve children in our community.

In April, we celebrated the graduation of a new training class held at our CASA Main Office on the Kosair for Kids Eastern Parkway Campus. We were proud to recognize five new CASA volunteers who completed their training and are now ready to begin their advocacy service: Todd Neal, Kayla Hibbs, Stephanie Johnson, Michael Spear, and Kimberly Self.

We were also honored to host a recent training class and graduation celebration at our

Bullitt County office, located in the Jim Eadens Hillview Resource Center. During that ceremony, we recognized Heather Cooper, Janis Ballard, and Justin Clifford as they completed their training and officially joined the CASA volunteer team.

Both celebrations reflected the dedication and commitment of individuals who have chosen to step forward for children who have experienced abuse and neglect. Bullitt County Family Court Judges Elise Spainhour and Monica Meredith attended the Bullitt County ceremony to support the new advocates and formally swear them into service, highlighting the strong partnership between CASA volunteers and the court system.

CASA of the River Region is grateful for each of these new volunteers and the commitment they bring to this important work. As they begin their service, they join a growing network of advocates helping ensure that children across our community have a consistent voice in court and in their journey toward safety and permanency.
