Initially inspired by TV, CASA devotes more than a decade to helping children

Over a decade ago, MaryBeth Freimund decided that she wanted to make a difference in the lives of children in need. "After watching an episode of Dr. Phil where his wife, Robin, served as the National Spokesperson for CASA, I was deeply moved and inspired to volunteer. Her advocacy highlighted the profound impact CASA has on the lives of vulnerable children, and I knew I wanted to contribute to this important cause.

She completed training in 2013 and has served children in Bullitt County ever since. "My favorite aspect of being a CASA volunteer is making a meaningful impact on a child's life and demonstrating to them that there is hope and a brighter future, even during challenging times," she shared.

Her most cherished moment as a CASA came when a loving family adopted three young brothers. After serving as their advocate for several years, MaryBeth found it incredibly rewarding to witness the boys thriving in their new environment.

"I continue to volunteer with CASA because I recognize the profound value of the organization and the significant benefits it brings to a child's life," she added.  More devoted advocates like MaryBeth are needed throughout CASA's service area.
