CASA of the River Region hosted the Cindy Prestigiacomo Memorial Golf Scramble on May 10th at Heritage Hill Golf Club in Shepherdsville. While the weather may have been unseasonably chilly, the participating teams really warmed things up with great play and enthusiasm for the mission they were there to support.
The event was generously sponsored by Republic Bank and LG&E/KU with a Hole in One Challenge presented by Oxmoor Auto Group. "A well-timed hole in one could have earned someone a new vehicle like the beautiful pickup on display at the course, Omaha Steaks for a Year, a Bushnell Rangefinder, or a $500 gift card. While we did not have a winner, this opportunity, thanks to our great supporters at Oxmoor Auto Group, really added a lot of excitement to the event," shared Nicole Cardwell, CASA's Director of Development.
Teams from throughout the region took part in the event, named for the late Cindy Prestigiacomo, longtime Executive Director of the Bullitt County CASA Program. "Cindy has left a wonderful legacy. We are so happy to continue her dedication to serving the children of Bullitt County and to hold this event in her memory," added Cardwell.
Hole sponsors for the event included Club Fitness, Derby Services, Grossman Tuning, Motto Mortgage, Premier Property Management. QK4, Spalding Insurance Group, Stites & Harbison, Tee It Up Golf, & the Wigginton Building.
Golfers were treated to chicken biscuits courtesy of Chick-fil-A Jefferson Commons & Preston Highway and a delicious BBQ buffet from Heritage Hill. Prizes, tee gifts, and other in-kind contributions came from Bullitt County Public Libraries, Five Iron Golf, Kids Dentistree, Mark's Feed Store, Rainbow Blossom, Raising Cane's, Sam's Club, Thunderdome Restaurants, Smokey Bones, Tee It Up Golf, and TopGolf.
