NoCo Living Magazine Partners with CASA

This month, CASA is excited to recognize a new community partner helping to shine a light on child abuse and neglect. NoCo Living Magazine is a monthly social publication created for and by the residents of Norton Commons; a bustling, lifestyle community located in Prospect, Kentucky.

Led by Area Director and Editor in Chief, Maria Mears, the magazine has nearly 50 local sponsors and celebrated its one year anniversary in July.

Upon meeting for the first time, Maria commented on how touched she was by the mission and the impact carried out by more than 200 CASA volunteers in Jefferson, Henry, Oldham, Shelby, Spencer, and Trimble counties. It is this meaningful work and the remarkable community impact that helped form the beginning of a strong partnership between NoCo Living Magazine and CASA of the River Region.

Maria shared that NoCo Living was a dream of hers before she even knew it existed. Growing up with a passion and love of print media, it felt serendipitous when N2 Publishing gave Maria the opportunity to start up her own magazine right in her neighborhood. She knew this was an opportunity she could not pass up and wasted no time setting the groundwork for the launch of the publication.

Just as Maria was finding her footing, the pandemic set in causing a delay. With some determination and grit, she officially launched in July of 2020. “The mission of NoCo Living is to share a snapshot of the lives of the residents here in the neighborhood and the amazing things that they do. Along with that, we help businesses reach their ideal clientele through advertising and partnership opportunities.”

CASA of the River Region is featured in NoCo Living’s latest October issue and will soon

have a special spotlight in next month’s November publication. By sharing our mission in different communities, we hope to encourage people to volunteer with CASA.
