In Appreciation of CASA Volunteers

Volunteer Appreciation Month is celebrated every April, however, for CASA of the River Region, President/CEO William Myers shared, " Volunteers are vital to fulfilling CASA's mission. We are incredibly grateful for our volunteers each and every day."


On Thursday, April 20th, CASA hosted a Volunteer Appreciation Dinner to offer thanks to our dedicated CASAs and their guests. (Many of those guests provide the support and encouragement that is so important in allowing volunteers to continue their work serving

the best interests of children in our community.)


The evening was a celebration of CASA volunteers which included dinner & fellowship, door prizes, and special recognition of the 19 CASAs who received the President's Volunteer Service Award. Volunteers completing 100+ hours of service in a year are eligible for this honor.

During the program, Myers referenced a famous quote from Audrey Hepburn, " As you grow older, you will discover that you have two hands, one for helping yourself, the other for helping others." He acknowledged that CASAs truly embody this, lending a hand to ensure that lives of children are changed for the better.
